Joe Manganiello is wasting no time in taking the next step with current girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor, fresh from finalizing his divorce from ex-wife Sofia Vergara.
This comes after the Magic Mike actor called time on his seven-year marriage to Vergara by filing for divorce in July of last year. Reports state that the pair – once one of Hollywood’s power couples – grew distant over quarrels they shared concerning starting a family.
It’s said that Manganiello was keen on having children, though Vergara, 51, wasn’t on board. The Modern Family actress already has a grown-up son from a previous marriage, and RadarOnline say she wasn’t prepared to start over.
Cue the aforementioned divorce, which was announced in July of 2023 and then finalized in the September.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” the couple said in a joint statement.
TMZ cite insiders as claiming that Manganiello and O’Connor bonded over their Pittsburgh roots, with sources saying the pair are very much in love with one another despite not having been an item for that long.
Indeed, True Blood actor Manganiello has moved in with O’Connor, implying that their relationship is a serious one. Vergara, meanwhile, is said to be dating Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Justin Saliman.
“His (Joe’s) relationship with Caitlin doesn’t faze her,” the insider said. The source went on to say that Manganiello and O’Connor “are doing really well and getting more and more serious and talking about their future. They are really enjoying where things are going.”
