Kate Kaufling passed away on March 31, 2024, after a long battle with osteosarcoma. She was 20 years old.

The second year of college for Kate Kaufling was The University of Kentucky.
Sandy Bell, the university’s executive associate athletics director, said something in a statement after Kate’s death.
She said, “Kate was not only a great dancer, but also a great student in the College of Nursing who took her work very seriously.”
“Kate kept up with her studies even while she was getting treatment for cancer. She was an amazing example for her teammates.” Everyone who knew Kate loved her, and she will be missed a lot.
Dawn Walters, the head dance coach at our school, said, “Kate was a joy to coach and be around.”
“Her smile could light up a room, and everyone on the UKDT loved her.” We are all very sad about Kate’s death.
