Suits fans be prepared to get another piece of pie for your wife as the pilot for a spin-off series has been confirmed.

Although the original series by Aaron Korsh ended in 2019, the show reportedly remained as one of the most-watched series of 2023, racking up more than three billion views over seven consecutive weeks.

The hit legal drama was watched for a total of 57.7 billion minutes on Netflix last year, beating The Office‘s previous record of 57.1 billion minutes, set in 2020.

For those unaware, the USA Network show, which became available on Netflix last year, aired from 2011 to 2019 and centres around college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who begins working as a law associate for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), despite never attending law school.

The all-star cast also includes Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane, Sarah Rafferty as Donna Paulsen and Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt.

On the show’s resurgence on Netflix, Patrick J. Adams told E! News: “I’m totally astounded it’s found a second life. I feel honoured.

“When you walk away from a show, you think that’s it and you’re going to move on to something else and just to know that a whole new generation of people are finding it and loving it – loving it almost more than they loved it the first time around, it’s incredible.”

On top of sharing his appreciation for the new fans, the actor said he would love to see the inside of a courtroom again alongside his cast mates – especially Markle.

Adams said: “I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. We’d be lucky to have her back in the industry.”

Discussing the prospect of a spin-off series focusing on the on-screen couple’s new life, he said: “Let’s go, I’d do it. I’m ready. Mike and Rachel in Seattle.”

Now, Suits viewers will be delighted to know that spin-off series Suits: L.A. is officially in the works.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered a pilot for a companion series.

The programme will reportedly follow brand new character, Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who moves his high-powered practice from New York to LA.

Suits creator Korsh will return to write the pilot alongside original producers Doug Liman, Dave Bartis and Gene Klein.

Filming is currently scheduled to take place in March in Vancouver, however, there are no casting details yet.

We’re not sure who, if any, of the old cast will return.

The official Suits: L.A. synopsis from NBC reads: “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.

“Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

“All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

The power of Netflix pretty much speaks for itself.

Unless it’s really special, a show that wrapped up five years ago after a decade on screen would most likely be on the scrapheap, as viewers have long moved on and are engrossed by another new series.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m watching Prison Break for the umpteenth time and loving every minute of it all over again, but Michael Scofield surely doesn’t have another grand escape in him. So, I’ve come to terms with the fact it’s over.

But luckily, my next favourite series – which comes in at a close second – could still have some juice to squeeze out of it yet.

Thanks to its renewed popularity on Netflix, Suits could be making a reappearance on our screens.

The hit legal drama, which focuses on Mike Ross’ journey as he rises through the ranks of a top law firm, although it isn’t all exactly above board, is now being enjoyed by a new generation of fans thanks to the streaming platform.

It has been smashing streaming ratings ever since it arrived on Netflix, reportedly racking up more than 3 billion views each week while dominating the charts.

If you need a reminder on what the nine seasons of Suits is about, the official synopsis reads: “After impressing a slick lawyer with his razor-sharp mind, a college dropout scores a coveted associate job, even though he has no legal credentials.”

Fans were left satisfied with the heartwarming ending, which aired in 2019, but they certainly wouldn’t mind revisiting the beloved characters five years on from the finale.

Spoiler alert, but; Louis and Sheila got hitched and had a baby, Harvey and Donna got engaged and had a shotgun wedding, while Mike and Rachel set up a new life in Seattle running their own law firm.

It was the beginning of an end, but even the real life Mike Ross wants to see what would be happening these days.

Patrick J. Adams, who played the protagonist, said he was buzzing that Netflix viewers had breathed new life into Suits.

He told E! News: “I’m totally astounded it’s found a second life. I feel honoured.

Man who bet entire life savings on single roulette spin believes he’d have been better off losing

Man who bet entire life savings on single roulette spin believes he'd have been better off losing

Twenty years is a long time, but the story of a ‘plucky Brit’ who went to Las Vegas to double his life savings keeps cropping back up.

Just ask Ashley Revell, who is the poker expert in question that made global headlines back in 2004 after appearing on a reality show that saw him gamble more than £70,000 in an instant.

Man gambled entire life on roulette spin

Ashley, from Maidstone, made the huge punt on Sky One reality show called Double or Nothing, putting £76,840 ($135,300) all on red at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

He’d sold everything to finance the bet, including his house, clothes and valuables.

Thankfully, he won and walked away with more than £150,000 in his pocket.

But speaking to LADbible, Ashley reckons he might have been even better off if he had lost.

He said he’d ‘do it again’ if he found himself in the same situation as he ‘couldn’t lose, really’.

Ashley explained: “It was a no brainer. I’d have got the publicity from it even if I had lost.”

He said that because of the American obsession with Las Vegas and the gambling industry he’d ‘still have made money off of the back of it all’.

Ashley added: “Americans like the concept of the plucky Brit coming over and taking over Vegas.

“The press I’d have got from the show if I had lost would have carried me.

“Of course, without the TV programme I would have said no chance [to making the bet].”

Ashley revealed that there was even meant to be another part to the show but because he won the bet, it wasn’t really needed with the story complete.

After winning the bet, Ashley found himself walking around Vegas with more than £150,000 in his pocket; something he admitted was ‘very dangerous’.

As a lover of poker, one of his first moves was to enter the World Series of Poker which had always been a dream of his.

The move saw him put ‘£10,000 down the swanny’, he says, but he doesn’t regret it one bit.

Ashley would go on to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and This Morning before using some of his winnings to go on the ‘trip of a lifetime’ travelling across Europe on a motorbike – where he ended up meeting the woman he would later marry.

Ashley spent five years after the show running an online poker room which he says was only possible due to the fame and conversation starter he had by appearing on the Sky reality show.

Now, he has gone all in once again on a new tech start up business called Four.me.

Ashley put all that he has into the business, which he says is on the cutting edge of where digital markets can go through bespoke URLs that include coloured lettering.

He said: “I’ve always been a lucky person and a positive guy, so I’m hoping this can turn into another win.”

Narco crime boss series starring Sofia Vergara as ‘Cocaine Godmother’ lands on Netflix today

The narcos crime drama inspired by a notorious drug lord and starring Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara has landed on Netflix.

Netflix’s Griselda is inspired by the life of the infamous Griselda Blanco, who created one of the most profitable drug cartels in history.

Vergara stars in the titular role in the six-part limited series alongside Alberto Guerra, Martín Rodríguez, Juliana Aidén Martinez and Christian Tappan. You can check out a trailer here:

The series centres on Blanco’s life after fleeing from Medellín to Miami with her three young sons and a kilo of cocaine before going on to become the ruthless boss of a drug empire.

The six-part series is created by Narcos’ showrunner Eric Newman, who has previously said: “From the earliest days of my research for what became Narcos, [Griselda] leapt out at me as a fascinating character.

“I have always endeavoured to humanise complicated people, many of whom have been considered evil, and Griselda offered both the greatest challenge and opportunity.”

He added: “There has never been a woman who came close to achieving the power, wealth, and respect that Griselda did. And no trafficker, woman or man, ever elicited the same level of fear.

Griselda is a rise-and-fall story like none we have ever seen before.

“It’s thrilling, emotional, funny, scary, and tragic. Griselda is an antihero of the highest order and a series of contradictions at odds with herself.”

Vergara, who is best known for her role of Gloria in Modern Family, underwent a dramatic transformation to play the drug lord – with Newman revealing she wore five different wigs and would spend ‘hours’ sat in the makeup chair every day before filming.

To complete her overhaul, Vergara wore a prosthetic nose and a set of fake teeth that were slightly bucked and yellowed out as Blanco is seen puffing on a cigarette throughout the series – something Vergara has said she had to learn how to do for the role.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon she praised director Andrés Baiz for helping teach her how to play the part. She shared: “It was amazing because I was 51 years old and I didn’t even know how to, you know, how to light a cigarette.”

Heaping praise on Vergara, Newman said: “She was perfect for the role not only because she, like Griselda, is a single mother who came to America from Colombia with nothing and built an empire, but because it was unexpected of her to do.

“Sofia has been thought of one way, a beautiful and brilliant comedic actress, and she is so much more than that.”

Netflix shares first look at new series which will be very similar to Saltburn

Netflix shares first look at new series which will be very similar to Saltburn

Netflix has just unveiled a first look at a new series that is very similar to the film that has hooked the nation these past few weeks.

One of the most talked-about films to start off 2024 has no doubt been Saltburn, released to Amazon Prime Video just days before Christmas last year.

Since its on-demand release on December 22, it’s taken social media by storm and people cannot get enough of Barry Keoghan’s performance as Oliver Quick.

Keoghan stars opposite Jacob Elordi in the Emerald Fennell movie; a flick that left some cowering behind couch cushions in shock.

It’s a dark yet comedic film, with deep psychological undertones about a University of Oxford who becomes obsessed with a aristocratic student who later invites him to spend the summer with his family and friends at their huge rural estate.

Those obsessed with the 131 minute film should now be preparing for a brand new series that will soon be coming to Netflix.

Some have said Saltburn takes inspiration from a famous crime novel and film of the same name, The Talented Mr Ripley.

The book, released in 1955 followed by the film in 1999, follows con artist Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) as he travels across the world in a bid to convince ‘rich and spoiled playboy’ Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) to return home to the United States.

In both works, the main characters are brought together while at prestigious universities.

While Saltburn writer Emerald Fennell says the book and film didn’t serve as inspirations for her work, the undertones relating to class, wealth and the perks of knowing the rich flow through both pieces of work.

Fans of both films have attested to their similarity, with one saying: “The Talented Mr Ripley is the closest you’ll get to Saltburn.”

Well, 25 years after the Oscar nominated film was released, a brand new Netflix series based on the same book is on its way.

Titled Ripley, it stars Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Fleabag) as Tom Ripley, Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf and Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood.

John Malkovich also stars, though his character is not yet known.

In total, it’ll run for eight episodes.

Much like the novel, the series will follow Ripley after he’s hired by a wealthy man to convince his extravagant son to return home to New York from Italy.

What follows is dark, including murder, fraud and deceit.

Netflix today (1 February) released a new image of Scott in the lead role, which will be shot entirely in black and white.

The wait isn’t too long for Ripley either, which will be released on 4 April.

Responding to the new image, one X user wrote: “You don’t understand, I can’t f**king wait.”

Neither can we!
