Ingredients: Corn, Palm Oil, Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Salt, Citric Acid, Spices, Corn Starch, Monosodium Glutamate, Artificial Flavors, Natural Flavors (with Milk and Egg Ingredients), Onion Powder, Artificial Colors (FD&C Yellow 6 Lake, FD&C Red 40 Lake), Garlic Powder, Dextrose, Sesame Oil, Chicken Fat, Sodium Citrate) Contains 2% or Less of the Following Antioxidants (TBHQ and/or BHA and BHT) and Lime Traces.

BHA, BHT, AND TBHQ

Butylated hydroxyanisole and hydroxytoluene two synthetically made chemicals which keep oils from  becoming rancid fast.  These chemicals are classified by the Department of Health and Human Services as “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.” Unfortunately, these substances  are still “generally recognized as safe” by the FDA.

MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer often added to Chinese food, restaurant foods, canned vegetables, soups and more. The FDA  requires companies to disclose the fact that they put MSG in their products. However, these companies are not required to disclose  how much MSG was used. People will often experience immediate side effects after consuming MSG such as  nausea, headache, heart problems and vomiting.  Some studies suggest that MSG can lead to certain cancers and liver inflammation.

ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS

There are about 1,300 ingredients approved by the FDA to be used in the manufacturing of artificial flavors. Artificial flavoring takes over your brain! This is the reason you eat more than you originally planned on. In most instances, food manufacturers actually pay scientists to produce food flavors that trick our brain into wanting more of it.

ARTIFICIAL COLORS

Artificial food colors are chemical dyes used to color food and drinks.  They can lead to hyperactivity and behavioral problems in children.  Some studies have found these chemicals to cause cancer in laboratory animals.

  • Red #40 (E124)– It has been found to cause thyroid cancer and chromosomal damage in laboratory animals and may also interfere with brain-nerve transmission.
  • Yellow #6 (E110) Banned in Norway and Sweden, it increases the number of kidney and adrenal gland tumors in laboratory animals and may cause chromosomal damage.
